In this installation, one of the performers attempted to map out the space and its objects with orange lines while the other performer gathered and combined materials according to a written process. The materials included ones discarded in city spaces such as newspapers, glass fragments and packing peanuts along with cooking materials such as flour, water and cinnamon.
Standing Shipping Staining
In this body of work, discarded materials collected around the city of Chicago were broken down and cooked using techniques including baking and frying. Additional ingredients were added such as home-made bread dough, processed sugars and animal fats.
These objects were created by melting down plastics including, plastic bags, plastic tarps and saran wrap, and then coating them in oil-based paints.
